Dhawalika moved to Mumbai after graduating from A.J. Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. Her most recent work is Kutch Express, a feature film set in Kutch, Gujarat telling the story of a woman who goes on a journey self discovery with the aid of art and the support of her mother-in-law, She also shot a thriller Dear Father, that tells the story of a family dabbling living together in a world of empowered women . She has also shot an independent feature, Pushtaini, directed by Vinod Rawat which is still under production. Her latest project was a sitcom directed by Rohan Sippy that is still under production. Dhawalika also shot the official Indian adaptation of The Office.
The power of visuals to tell a story is what drew me to the camera and continues to be a driving force. Designing the look of each individual story in collaboration with the director and seeing it come alive is the most thrilling part of being a cinematographer for me.
