I am Evangelical about boosting the women power in the medium of Cinema…chiefly women technicians and women cinematographers in particular… in March 2015, began the Facebook group- Association of Indian Women Cinematographers…and women DoPs Savita Singh, Deepti Gupta, Priya Seth, fellow founders extended the network…and further on Neha Parti, Pooja Gupte, Preetha, and a whole number women DoPs joined in a growing tribe of professionals who re-anointed themselves as Indian Women Cinematographers Collective, in a display of a fantastic collective spirit, on March 8th 2017, we announced our being to the world.
And after the first general body meeting, the core group studied formalities available regarding organisations.. after much thought I was convinced about focusing on one action and that is a website to host ourselves. In meetings in Priya’s home, along with Deepti and Savita over great coffee that the design philosophy of IWCC website happened.
That it would present every one in a fair way….so, the floating mosaic display and a fair representation of each persons calibre…
In March 2019, the Collective has empowered itself with the first ever online directory of WOMEN technicians in India…
